Home Buying Guide

Selecting an Agent to Represent You as Your Buyer's Agent...

It is very important to select a well qualified, experienced professional real estate agent to represent your interests in your transaction. Some buyers/sellers think that all agents are the same and/or equally qualified and that is NOT the case.

For example did you know...

Real estate agents are independent contractors. That means that they really run their own businesses within a real estate company. They each decide for themselves the level of service that they will provide.

Steve Hatfield takes a personal interest in every buyer/seller client he works with and always provides a very HIGH level of customer service.
To become a licensed Realtor® in the state of Michigan you only have to take a 40 hour class and pass a very simple test. From that point on the only required training is a simple 6 hour class to renew your license.

Steve Hatfield has taken a great deal of additional training. He is an ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative) a CRS (Certified Residential Specialist), an SFR (Short Sale & Foreclosure Resource) and an e-PRO (Internet Professional). Combine that with over 20 years of experience and you will get a professional real estate agent that has the knowledge and experience to expertly guide you through your transaction.

Here's what to look for when you hire your Realtor® / Buyer's Agent...
  1. Minimum 7 years experience as a full time Realtor®
  2. Must have the ABR and CRS designations (Accredited Buyer Representative / Certified Residential Specialist)
  3. An agent that is willing to take time to explain the process to you. Always meet with the real estate agent in their office first to review the home buying process and you'll get a good feel for how they work.
A few "Don'ts"...
  1. Never work with a friend or relative who is a real estate agent...it rarely turns out well
  2. Never work with a new or part-time agent. Doing so could cost you thousands of dollars due to their lack of knowledge
  3. Be wary of agents who are too "busy" to spend much time with you. You need time and personal attention!
  4. Never work with just "any" real estate agent...do your homework! You want a mix of experience, knowledge and professionalism plus a high level of competence.

Select your Realtor® wisely! Getting the best real estate agent to represent you makes a HUGE difference!

In this area, Steve Hatfield, Realtor®, ABR, CRS, SFR, e-PRO IS your best choice for top quality buyer representation.

The cost to you to receive expert buyer representation provided by Steve Hatfield is ZERO $$!
That's right...FREE Buyer Representation!!
